Banana News  Watsonville Coast Produce has 9 of the newest, state of the art ripening rooms in central and northern California. A computer controls all room temperature, humidity and ventilation. The computer also tracks and records these figures in addition to the pulp temperature of the fruit. Our fruit-ripening specialist can also keep an eye on his nearly 9,000 "babies" from home via a laptop computer. Our fruit ripening specialist has but one single duty...to ensure that we have the best bananas in the industry. The special relationships we have developed with our suppliers begin the process. Then, our "banana man" manages them to perfection in flavor, presentation and color ranges. In addition to our standard bananas, both conventional and organic, Watsonville Coast Produce also has baby bananas, burro bananas, manzano bananas, singles for institutional use, plantains and organic red bananas.
