Apples, apples and more apples in Washington

Well, it's apple season, so that means cold storage across California and Washington start to fill up with freshly picked apples.  This year, however, we are looking at one of the largest crops since 1989!  There are reported to be bins of apples sitting in fields waiting for cooler space in Washington.

Not sure if you've noticed, but there have been increased marketing for many fruits, mangoes and avocados to name a couple, however there has been very little apple marketing.  A few years ago, there was a marketing campaign for Washington apples, but the major companies decided they wanted to market themselves, I'm sure trying to gain market share, brand awareness, and varietal push.

Our take...buy apples!  They're going to be very good prices for great quality and they're great for you!
